In a major milestone for higher health education in the Busoga sub-region, International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) Jinja has officially entered a academic affiliation with Busitema University. This strategic partnership enables IIHS Jinja to offer accredited degree qualifications locally, bridging the gap for healthcare professionals seeking career advancement without leaving the region.
Under this affiliation, eligible diploma holders and prospective students can enroll in advanced programs, including the Bachelor of Nursing Completion and the Bachelor of Medical Education. The collaboration leverages Busitema University’s established academic governance alongside IIHS Jinja’s state-of-the-art training facilities and clinical networks.
“This partnership opens up clear academic pathways for nurses and midwives who previously had to travel long distances to upgrade their qualifications. We are bringing higher education closer to the frontline health workforce,” noted academic leadership during the launch.
Enrollment for the initial degree cohorts is currently open at the IIHS Jinja main campus admissions office, with flexible schedules tailored for working health professionals.
