VATICAN CITY – History was made on May 8, 2025, as Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost was elected the 267th Pope, taking the name Pope Leo XIV. This marks the first time an American has ascended to the papacy, a moment celebrated across the Catholic world.

JINJA – The excitement is palpable as IIHS Jinja prepares to host its grand Graduation Ceremony tomorrow, May 9, 2025, at the prestigious IIHS Jinja Grounds. Graduates, families, and distinguished guests will gather to celebrate the hard work, resilience, and achievements of the Class of 2025.

It is with heavy hearts that we, the International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) Jinja family, mourn the loss of our beloved director, Dr. Wilson Kisubi, who passed away on yesterday. Dr. Kisubi was more than a leader; he was a beacon of hope, inspiration, and dedication whose influence transcended boundaries and touched countless lives.

The International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) – Jinja invites applications from suitably qualified and committed professionals to join our distinguished institution as lecturers in the Degree Programs Department.

We are pleased to announce that the updated, corrected, and rectified list of graduands has now been released. Additionally, we are excited to share that students from the December 2024 cohort have also been included in the list of graduating students.

Important Notice: Name Correction for Graduating Students

As we approach the much-anticipated 5th Graduation Ceremony this May, we want to ensure that every detail is perfect for our graduating students. One of the key aspects of this preparation is ensuring that all students’ names are accurately captured for the official graduation documents, including certificates, programs, and other materials.

To this end, we are currently conducting name corrections for graduating students, and we strongly encourage all students to take this opportunity to verify and confirm that their names are correctly listed. Any errors or misspellings can only be addressed during this designated period, so please act promptly.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a sacred time for Christians around the world to reflect, repent, and renew their faith. At IIHS Jinja, we join our community in embracing this meaningful period with hearts open to transformation and spiritual growth.

This day serves as a poignant reminder of our mortality and the grace of God’s forgiveness. The ashes placed on foreheads symbolize humility, repentance, and the commitment to turn away from sin and walk closer with God. As we hear the words, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return,” we are called to reflect on the transient nature of life and the eternal hope found in Christ.
