The orientation serves as the bridge between simulated laboratory learning and real-world clinical practice. Facilitated by senior clinical instructors and hospital ward mentors, the sessions covered key clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and ward communication dynamics.
Core Focus Areas Included:
Infection Prevention & Control (IPC): Strict adherence to hygiene protocols, sterile techniques, and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.
Emergency Triage & Patient Care: Rapid assessment skills for high-volume settings such as emergency departments and labor wards.
Professional Ethics & Communication: Effective interaction with patients, care-givers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
These clinical rotations at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital and surrounding health center IVs give IIHS Jinja students practical experience across maternal health, pediatric care, surgical nursing, and outpatient management.
